“transformation” is the culmination of
over a year of calculated and focused effort expressed through repetitive hammering, bending and shaping of
approximately 200 lbs of steel. It is balanced carefully and precisely
using non-parallel axis of rotation and complex movement. The wind driven
sculpture moves gracefully even in the most turbulent conditions due to the
balance created by two counterweighted steel pieces mounted
on the immobile base. This piece was inspired by meditations on the
earth element. It transitions from etheric movement to
grounded stability.
